Capturing memories, one tassle at a time!
photoshoot preparation
I remember being in your shoes back in 2021, so I understand how emotional and meaningful this moment is. To help you prepare for your senior photoshoot and ensure everything goes smoothly, I've created this guide to make the experience stress-free and enjoyable.
What to Expect
Being a student at Notre Dame is a different experience for everyone, and my goal is to capture your personality and vibe in the most authentic way. I want you to feel comfortable and be yourself - that's how we'll get the best photos!
1. We'll start at a predetermined location, and from there, we'll explore as many spots and outfits as time allows - no limitations on locations or wardrobe changes. I'll follow your lead when it comes to pacing as we maximize our time together.
2. Throughout the shoot, I'll guide you through poses and give suggestions. But, feel free to share any fun or creative ideas - this is all about capturing the true essence of you and/or your friend group! For group sessions, we'll take both group shots and individual shots in the locations you desire.
3. After our photoshoot, I'll send you an invoice for the remaining balance, which will be due within 24 hours.
4. Finally, you'll receive your beautifully enhanced photo gallery via email within two weeks of our session.
I'm excited to capture this special moment for you!
What to Consider
Plan Ahead: Preparing for your photoshoot in advance helps us make the most of our time. Think about your outfits choices and preferred poses for each location. I'll guide you through the process, but having a vision in mind makes everything go smoother.
Lighting Matters: Keep in mind that lighting can change quickly, which may affect our chosen locations. We will make it work, but it's important to keep a flexible mindset.
Reflect on your Notre Dame Journey:
• What are your fondest memories at ND?
• Besides the typical locations (Dome, Grotto, Hes), are there other locations you will want to look back on?
• Do you have unique objects or memorabilia that hold important meaning to you?
The suggestions below are based on traditional senior photoshoots, but ultimately, it's up to you! I'm all in for non traditional senior photoshoots as well!
What to Wear
Outfits - What's important is that you wear what makes you feel good. You can dress formally and wear dresses and suits. Or, you can dress casually and wear what you're comfortable in.
Solid neutral colors often work well, it’s best to avoid busy patterns. If you're doing a group photoshoot, I recommend coordinating your outfits with your group.
Shoes - Consider shoes that look good for standing or sitting.
What to Bring
Graduation Regalia - Cap, gown, stoles and cords. If your gown or stole is wrinkled, consider steaming your gown before.
Personal Touches - Bring items that are meaningful to you; wear a class ring or maybe a family heirloom, like a necklace, watch or pin. Bring your country's flag or show off your school spirit with a dorm sweatshirt or t-shirt.
Touch-up kit - Bring a small touch-up kit just in case you need to freshen up during the shoot.
Comfy shoes - Bring along some comfy shoes for in between locations. The walking adds up.
Don’t forget the Bubbly. Get ready to Pop the Champagne!
